How much does the program cost?

The program is offered without charge but registration is required after 30 days.

 

How is the program supported?

Donations are appreciated and can be sent directly from the program during registration.

 

Can I register without making a donation?

Yes. You will receive an activation code that will activate the version you are registering. Save a copy of the setup.exe file in case you ever need to reinstall the program in the future.

 

Is technical support available?

Tech support is available to users who make a modest donation each year and includes these additional benefits:

  • Download updates

  • Download the CBS, TMS,  and Service Meeting schedules

  • Email support if you have a system crash and need to reinstall the program

  • Exchange data with other users (Import and Export)

Is telephone support available?

Due to the number of users, telephone support is NOT available. Support questions must be emailed and written in English.

 

What happens after 30 days if I do not register?

You can use the program but print and email functions will be disabled.

 

Can I install the trial on multiple computers?

Yes. You may install the trial on any computer you own and personally use. However, you may not install it on a shared computer at the local Kingdom Hall or on a USB Flash drive (or similar device).

 

Can I install KHS on my Mac?

Yes, but you will need a licensed copy of Windows installed under Boot Camp, VMWare Fusion, or Parallels. Check Apple's web site for more information on how to install Windows on your Mac.

 

Why can't I use Import and Export?

The programs database is constantly changing with each new release. As a result, users with different versions cannot trade files. So access to Import and Export is only enabled for registered users with tech support.

 

Can I share my activation code with others?

No, the activation code is for you only. Never give your activation code anyone!

 

 

How can I transfer my data to another brother in my congregation who will be taking over for me?

The other brother must first download and register his own copy of the program. Once he is ready, export your data to a Local_Exchange.zip file and email it to him so he can import your schedules. You both must be at the exact same version of KHS to exchange this file.

 

Can I transfer my registration to the brother who is taking over for me?

No, your registration is not transferable even if a donation was made. Each user must register their own copy.

 

Can I get a refund of my donation?

Donations are not refunded due to a cancellation, non-use, or non-activation. The only exception is if you made a donation in error and did not yet receive an activation or renewal code by email.

 

Can I give a copy of my backup file to another user?

Backup files can be shared with another user but it is recommended to use the Import and Export utility instead.

 

My computer crashed. How do I reinstall the program?

  • If you have tech support, download and install the latest 30 day trial. If you do not have tech support, use the original setup.exe file you downloaded to reinstall the program.

  • Enter your name, address, phone numbers, email, and congregation name on the Welcome screen

  • Click Continue and select Yes when prompted if you are already a registered user

  • Enter your activation code

  • After a restart, restore from a backup file

 

Can I export the reports to MS Word or plain text formats?

Yes. There is an export option for all reports that allows export to MS Word, Excel, RTF, PDF, HTML, and Plain Text.

 

Is there a copy of sent email stored somewhere in the program? 

The program does not store a copy of sent emails but if you configure the program to use Outlook or Gmail, there should be a copy of all sent email in your Sent folder.
